"A Darisa Tarot: The Lomisht" is an 85 card deck made by Karen Swartz (illustrator) and Draque Thompson (art director/ writer/ deck designer). They successfully kickstarted the project in 2017 and Karen finished the illustrations mid 2018. The companion document is available as a google document, and each deck contains a card dedicated to this link.
This unique deck is presented as a translation (note the foreign script on each card) of the cards used by the inhabitants of Darisa, and it illustrates many of their deities and concepts.
-All of the people of Darisa are genderless, so a handful of the cards have been renamed to reflect this, for example: "The Prince/ Page," "Queen," and "The King" have been renamed "The Princet," "The Vizier," and "The Liege."
-Extra cards have been added that do not exist in traditional decks. These may be removed for more traditional readings. These include: "Dance," "The Fugitive," and "The Cave" in the Major Arcana; and the "zero" suit cards.
-The rules for the bridge-like game "Tarocchi" have been included in this deck. (We thought it would be nice to play a game with the cards since Karen doesn't use Tarot cards for readings, but she loves making tarot-related artwork.)
If you would like to see more photos of the project, here's the link to our kickstarter page that details our journey in creating this deck from start to finish.
